After meeting up with Texas Runner Girl and Happy Healthy Runner this weekend, I have decided to give this old blog another chance. I’m not sure how long it will last but I figured it was worth a try. I’m also in a sort of slow time at work so the real test will be when that changes in a few weeks.
I last left off right before the MS 150 and that was far too long ago to recap now but I will say that I enjoyed it and came out the other side a stronger rider and can’t wait to do it again next year. Hopefully with a little more structured training.
So what am I up to now? Well mostly gearing up for this:
That’s right, I’ll be *Hopefully* running Houston this year! My fingers are crossed that no serious hip pain comes sneaking back up on me from the past.
Training doesn’t really start up until September but I have been working on building some semblance of a running base and I am slowing reminding my legs what it feels like to complete speed and tempo runs. Oh yeah, and just to shake things up a bit more, I purchased these beauties last night:
I had been toying around with making the switch to minimalist shoes and after Tara mentioned that her hip pain subsided once making the switch to minimalist shoes, my decision was confirmed. It also didn’t hurt that these were on sale at Running Warehouse and with a 10% off coupon I had, they were almost 50% off the original $100 dollar price tag.
So I know it’s been a while but who’s still out there reading? Anyone?
