Sex food or food for sex is using edibles that serve as natural aphrodisiac or libido booster. The nature has gifted us with many aphrodisiac foods that serve as food to enhance sexual stamina. Many people call sex food as adult food as these foods not only help in increasing sexual power but they also maintain sexual vigor and libido.
The food to enhance sex is basically sex hormone boosting edibles. One or the other way, such food improves the sexual thoughts and also make reproductive system active, alive. Though modern science may not have good explanation regarding sexual food, ancient science like Ayurveda has plenty of things to say!
In Ayurveda, food for sexual stimulation has something to do with spermatozoa and ovum as a whole. Ayurveda describes these main sexual components as shukra and aartava respectively. It is a universal law that if you want to enhance the bulk of something, you have to add to it -in a same way, the food that has same qualities as of sexual component, it must enhance it! Simply put, Ayurveda describes certain qualities of semen and ovum. Let us have a look -
According to Ayurveda, the semen with best potency would be thick (semi-liquid), pure white, sweetish in taste and smell, big in volume (per ejaculation), sticky (but no threads) and non-filthy. Ayurveda describes some edibles that have same characteristics and hence recommends including it in daily diet to ensure good quality and sufficient quantity of semen. Generally, the food that enhances the male sexuality, according to Ayurveda, may also female libido. Therefore, the food described here may work for both genders.
The food that enhance sexuality
The milk stands first! Milk is a prime source of ojus (means -the vitality) and hence it is to be consumed. Ayurveda recommends having milk (without sugar, as the sugar can interfere in milk's (calcium's) absorption) on a regular basis. However, a person with lactose intolerance may have to opt for some other food here. Remember, dairy products are not substitutes for this! This is because any process on milk to make it cheese etc would destroy its Ayurvedic qualities.
Fresh fruits may make wonders! The fruits are rich sources of vitamins and minerals. According to Ayurveda, they are the best source for supplying rasa (the chyme that nourishes every body tissues, including spermatozoa and ovum). The caution is diabetic person for sweet fruits and ulcer patient for sour fruits -however, they can simply take sour and sweet fruits respectively.
Dark, green and leafy vegetables are best to provide you roughage. The roughage cleanses the intestines by adding volume to the stools. The fiber is also likely to bind harmful chemicals, unwanted material and other undigested food (such as undigested fatty material) and expel it along with stools. This way, the intestines are cleansed and they get better power to digest, absorb and assimilate the edibles. Vegetable like spinach and coriander are good to increase the semen volume and better its quality.
Ladyfinger and udad (a kind of lentil used widely in India) are said to have natural aphrodisiac properties. They are sticky (remember the quality of typical, ideal semen) hence may serve as libido enhancing or sex food.
