Another long day on conferencing and touring. This is the type of day a girl could use a massage. Instead, I did some yoga tonight. Okay... so really my toes did some yoga. I bought my Yogatoes about a year ago and I keep them in my suitcase for nights like today. As a person with foot issues, they seriously help my feet out after a long day. (The secret to keeping it cheap is getting some friends to go in on the three pack! Save some cash!)
It was a rather long day that followed a long night. Seriously though who thought Daylight Savings Time was a good idea?!?!? I had a one hour time change on Sunday followed by another three hour time change on Monday night as I flew from SFO to JFK. So last night at 2:30am I just could not go to sleep. It felt like 10:30!!! I finally passed out around 3am only to wake up by 7:30. Good times!
We went on a tour of the UN today. Our tour guide was not loving his job. His comments included things like "let's go see what else we can entertain ourselves with" and "let's just go over here and look at this poster that you might find interesting." *YAWN* I was a licensed tour guide. I know it gets old. But the paying customer shouldn't feel like you are shuffling them in a random order to avoid other groups and clearly skipping a number of things other groups looked at because you don't want to be there!
While the General Assembly Hall was closed due to roof damage from the snow, we were promised a chance to see something SUPER COOL Unfortunately, despite a number of promises from our distracted tour guide, there was a meeting called (that he admitted to forgetting about), and we didn't get to go.
Boo! The rest of the day was spent in meetings. Lunch was a mediocre sushi restaurant and dinner was an okay Chinese restaurant. Both got decent reviews on Yelp but neither was worth writing home about. So I will leave you with a random question of the day from Zobmondo ...
Would You Rather... Have a scandal named after you (like Monica-gate) or… a disease named after you (like Lou Gehrig's disease)?
I think I would rather have a scandal named after me. While it wouldn't last as long, it wouldn't be something people dreaded getting diagnosed with. However the disease would be a cool disease since the question doesn't say anything about it being deadly... hmmmmm
