Magic morning beating the crowds to Sculptures by the Sea today…. and didn’t the dawn turn it on!? Man, there are some days I have to pinch myself, I can’t get over how stunning it can be around here sometimes.

No year is ever like another for this annual event, the artworks are so different again. There was so much smaller detail last year but this year it was all about the big guns. I’m always a sucker for the large scale pieces that you’re sure a crane was somehow involved in it’s installation.

Testing out a new lens, I was loving the silhouettes of art against the crystal clear sky – what do you think? Nice and wide eh? Helps when you have magnificent subjects like these…

Favourite? Pretty much by order of appearance here, loved the ‘mirador’ dome (above), and guessing by the amount of cameras around that thing this morning, that I’m alone in that choice. Also fancied the tall bamboo feathery wind things (below) making gentle music in the breeze.
