Savoury Cake

Welcome to you all again ! A beautiful start and a hectic net working last week made my dream get going. Received  appreciation mails,  followers on Twitter , submissions and published articles in many e-zines.  Now back to work, posting another yummy vegetable savoury cake recipe for you to try, its easy to make and stays good for 3-4 days. Makes a good starter and a delicious snack which is healthy too, here it goes ;

  • 1 cup semolina (suji, rawa)
  • 1/2 cup mixed vegetables
  • 1/2 cup thick curd (yogurt)
  • 1/2 tsp. chilly powder
  • 1 green chilly sliced
  • 1 tbsp. coriander leaves
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 tsp any fruit salt
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp sugar

Method: Dry fry the semolina till it is light brown in colour, take off the heat and let it cool. Assemble vegetables you want to add. Carrot, corn, peas and beans goes well with this savoury cake recipe.

Take a big vessel add the fried semolina and add salt, sugar, chilly powder, green chilly, coriander leaves, asafoetida and fruit salt (eno) powder. Mix it well.

Now add 1/2 cup of vegetables and yogurt in the above mix. Add little water if the mix is too dry but don’t make it runny.

Take a rectangular baking tin and grease it with oil. Pour the above mix in it and bake for 30 minutes at 180 degree centigrade or till done.
