Okay, now I feel better. Earlier today I was feeling frustrated so I figured a run would help work some of that frustration out of the system. And it did.
By the time I headed out tonight it was close to 5:30 and totally dark outside. I knew it would be chilly so I donned the full length tights, two longsleeve shirts, gloves and fleece headband. My cold weather running wardrobe is a bit limited - note to self: buy more warm upper layers!
Anyhow, as mentioned, it was also totally dark. I've got a few flashing lights - one that I wear on the back and one that I wear on the front - but I was noticing tonight that an actual headlight or lamp would be extremely useful. If anyone has any suggestions for lights/lamps etc. I'd be happy to hear them. I'm not sure what type of light is the most useful and practical.
As I was running around tonight I also realized just how peaceful it can be to run in the dark. There's something kind of comforting about being the only one out on a dark road, especially when you have a lot on your mind. I really needed tonight's run and was glad that I could just slip away unnoticed in the dark.
