Run For Boston

Posted Apr 19 2013 7:50am

As I write this, it is 7:17AM and I have been glued to the news since waking up this morning. As it stands: the first suspect is dead; suspect number two is still on the run and is considered armed and dangerous; an MIT officer is dead; several towns surrounding Boston are on lockdown; MBTA is suspended until further notice. I have no idea what is going on in this city. I have friends in that area of the lockdown so I hope that they are safe!

Since the horrific tragedy that occurred on Monday, there have been several funds and events set up to raise money for the victims of the bombings. There have been an abundance of runs put together to honor the victims, and the spirit of the marathon. This Saturday, City Sports had arranged a 5k to take place in Porter Square. Because of the overwhelming response, they had to cancel the race but they are urging those that wanted to participate to print up this bib

and run at 10AM tomorrow morning. I am certainly going to participate. For the RSVP’s that they received, City Sports has donated $7,500 to the One Boston Fund .
