Run Boston

Posted Apr 18 2013 9:39pm
...this post is all over the place and I guess I don't care because I'm not revising...

April 100 Update:
Monthly Total: 54.53 miles
Announcement: I'm on track to make April 100 a reality.

I ran three miles on Monday, April 15 around 1:00pm not because I had ridiculous amounts of motivation... I ran those three miles because the Boston Marathon inspired me.

Those three miles happened before I learned about the attack. What I know about runners is this...

WE DON'T QUIT. EVER.

Which means, Boston 2014 will be virtually impossible to enter. Record numbers will qualify, guaranteed. Runners are special... because running is special. It offers unconditional love while infusing you with pain. It's addicting. It's this best friend you just can't get enough of. It never talks back but it sure does bite sometimes. It's the best thing that's happened to me both physically and mentally.

Run 26.2 for Boston is an event (one of many) for anyone to join. It's simple, run 26.2 miles before the 2014 Boston Marathon in honor of the victims of the horrific attack at the 2013 Boston Marathon. I have 14.02 miles logged so far; not one of those miles has gone by without a thought of Boston. of the lives lost. of the heroes. of the injured. of those witnesses. My heart is still crying.

Also, check your town for local events this Saturday, April 20, 2013. Brett and I are running a 5K in honor of the victims and to take a few moments to just pray. To run and to pray.

Hugs and love,
Steffi
