Rude Health Review and GIVEAWAY!

Posted Oct 15 2010 2:28pm
Last month I received a wonderful parcel from Rude Health to review here on the blog…

Here’s just a sample of some of the amazing breakfasts and snacks that I have had over the past few weeks:

Rude Health believe in making breakfast a joyous experience, filled with delicious and satisfying breakfast cereal. Their granola, muesli and porridge are all organic that are free from additives and refined sugar, made with the best quality ingredients.

To be honest I am not a huge fan of muesli.  Its resemblance to sawdust is a little off putting for me.  Rude Health’s The Ultimate Muesli was a great surprise.  It is made from a whopping 23 ingredients, including linseeds, apricots, apple pieces, quinoa and almonds.  The fact that 70g wit semi-skimmed milk only contains 287 calories is an added bonus.  The texture of the museli was not the grainy powdery texture to which I have become accustomed but wholesome and crunchy.

The Multigrain Flakes are incredibly low in fat.  Made from wholegrain barley, corn and spelt a typically serving of 186 calories and only 2.7g of fat.  For such a simple cereal they are very filling and are great as a topping for your fruit and yoghurt.

My favourite product of them all was the 500g box of The Granola.  It is made from oats, spelt, barley and puffed amaranth with freshly roasted nuts.  I am a huge fan of granola and love it with Greek yoghurt and honey.  However I am always concerned about the high sugar content that some brands use.  Rude Health’s granola is way healthier than other brands currently available as it is high in fiber, wholegrain, contains no refined sugars or salt and is organic.  Also it is not too sweet as the blend of honey and date syrup is just right.  The subtle sweetness is great as it allows the flavour of the seeds, nuts and amaranth to be more obvious.

The cost of the box is a little more expensive than most supermarket brands, retailing at £5.99.  This is the only downside to this granola, however the fact that you are buying a product made from good quality ingredients far out weighs the cost.  The saying “you get what you pay for” springs to mind- and here it rings true!

Luckily for you guys, the very generous people at Rude Health have kindly offered to host a giveaway here!  I’m so excited as this is my first ever giveaway!
