Happy New Year!
It's a lazy, rainy new year's day morning and mine was interrupted by a phone call from the father of my children who is telling me that he will pick them up later since it is his Tuesday night. Sure, holidays trump the regular schedule among people who follow legal documents, and respect the supposedly mutually agreed upon parenting plan. That holds unless someone only follows rules of his own invention. When I indicated that I am entitled to New Year's day as it falls within the plan that we each get five consecutive days over the December break, his response was "you bitch". Well, I still had one more day to enjoy my children.
As I fight this rotten feeling so soon in the new year, I am struggling to get beyond the fact that this year is beginning, just like the last one (and the one before that) ended.....in an endless divorce. Welcome 2008?!
Here's hoping that all of you have happier days ahead. And that goes for me, too.
Let the inauguration of this Blog lead us all to a better place.
