Rewards for Eating Salad? I'm In!

Posted Sep 11 2009 4:54pm
Hi guys,

I hope your Wednesday went well! Mine was okay--a little stressful, but oh well. I'll do a post later with more details about the potential change of major. I don't want to say too much before all the right people get contacted, and issues get sorted out--just in case, you know?

I had a yummy apple today, sliced because I didn't want it to hit my nose! Haha. Cinnamon wanted to make an appearance as well:

No idea what's up the the right side of my camera... maybe there's a smudge on the lens?

I also had a serving bowl salad for lunch:

The stars of the show were goat cheese crumbles and Annie's Island Marinade. It's been too long since I've had that marinade! Like, 2 days... haha.

The UPS dude came with a surprise package! So, it's no secret that I eat a lot of salad. Well, if you buy the Fresh Express bagged salad, they have these little points on the back of the salad bags. If you cut out the "40 points" part (and I did the proof of purchase, too), you can save them up and send them in for rewards! The website is here. The prizes I sent away for came today :D

I got an adorable insulated lunch tote:

Seriously, this thing is so cute!

And a salad blaster bowl:

This thing is tiny! Haha, I probably eat 3x that much salad in a meal. It's great if you eat smaller amounts of salad, or if you're having something else big with it, though. It was free though, and you can't beat that :D

I had some cottage cheese and cinnamon on an endpiece of bread, K -style (minus the english muffin):

I roasted some brussels sprouts for dinner. I used to eat these all the time, but I haven't had them for a while.

With some black pepper and ICBINB spray.

I also had a salmon burger:

With mushrooms, sprouts, ketchup, mustard, grape tomatoes, and lettuce.

Then my mom and I went on a quick walk, even though there was a slight drizzle. It was so nice to get out of the house. Then we popped over to Trader Joe's and picked up some food, including beef-less strips, mini chocolate meringues, grapes, greek yogurt, and yummy sweet cherries. I also got some chocolate-covered sunflower seeds that I think will be finding their way into a bowl of oats pretty soon :D

I am tired, and my nose has been bugging me. The left side is swollen, and (more) sore than the right side. I'm trying not to freak out--if it's still weird tomorrow I'm calling the doctor, just to make sure everything is okay.

Oh, and I joined Megan's July Water Challenge. I don't drink enough water, so I'm aiming to drink 72 oz a day. I'm at 60 so far, so I've just got to finish this big glass for today :) No prob!

Alright guys, I'm gonna read some blogs and then go to bed early. See ya later, I'll leave you with these giveaways to enter:

SnackFace is having a VegNews giveaway
Nutritious is Delicious is having an awesome Penny's Low Fat Desserts contest

G'night!
