Revisited workout

Posted Feb 23 2011 6:11pm

Yesterday Michelle and I revisted an old workout of ours that we created back in December from inspiration from Bodyrock , of course ;)

But before I get to the workout let me show you what Michelle created as our ‘pre-workout’ snack.

This little drink that Michelle put together was amazing. So creamy, simple yet so tasty! Definitely plan on having this from time to time :)

Basically what Michelle did: **this is just estimates she did not really measure, so go by your own personal taste

Coconut Carob latte (dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free, low-sugar)

  • 1/2 cup or so coconut milk
  • 1/4-1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp carob
  • 10 drops stevia (sweeten to taste)
  • 1 tbsp espresso ground beans
  • a little dash of vanilla

  • Place all ingredients into a small pot on stovetop and bring to medium heat for a few minutes till warm/hot, but not boiling.
  • Than drain all the ingredients (to get rid of coffee grains) through a small colander (or something similar) and pour drink into a mug to enjoy!

Now the ground espresso beans are optional, we added it in to give the drink more flavorful and a little extra kick.

Re-visit of our Work It Twins workout

I forgot how hard this workout was and did my best to push myself to beat my personal best.

Set Gymboss Interval Timer to 24 rounds – 10/20 second intervals

1) Jumping Jack Push-up

Lori: 13, 12, 12, 12, 9, 10, 10        Michelle: 14, 10, 11, 11, 10, 10

2) V-ups for abs

Lori: 16, 17, 16, 16, 15, 15            Michelle: 16, 17, 16, 16, 15, 15

3) Pendulum

Lori: 32, 32, 31, 31, 31, 33           Michelle: 38, 35, 35, 35, 33, 34

4) Lunge scissors

Lori: 24, 21, 23, 20, 17, 18           Michelle: 22, 21, 21, 20, 18, 17

So how did we do compared to our first time with this interval workout?

Able to do a few more push-ups and go deeper with the pose; definitely did a lot more v-ups for abs (so guess we are finally getting our 6-pack); able to do a few more pendulums and stay more consistent each round :) ; and the lunge scissors we did not do as many but this time we went further into a deep lunge position!

Thoughts: I felt we both did great! As our continued love and process of HIIT continues. I am excited to see where I will be in a few more months!

Till next time,
