Returning to Health

Breakfast

I woke up feeling much better this morning than I did this past weekend. Still not back up to 100% yet, but I'm well on my way. The thing that is taking it's sweet time to return to normal is my appetite. All my stomach wants to do is eat small amounts of bland foods every so often, such as this bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.


Morning Snack

I made myself a mug of white hot chocolate after the morning program. I didn't have any plans during the day today, so I took advantage of that time to rest up after a busy weekend.


Workout

Today was the first day since I got sick where I felt comfortable to push my body during a workout. I did a 60-minute HIIT Mash Up workout from the jessicasmithtv YouTube channel. It was pretty intense! I was sweating buckets within the first 20 minutes and felt pretty shaky by the end of it. I decided to stick to a home workout in case things didn't go so well. Fortunately, everything went just fine! It felt good to have the energy to get in a good workout again!



Lunch

I still wasn't feeling anything too strong taste-wise for lunch, so I made myself a bowl of garlic penne pasta with green beans. It actually tasted pretty good!



Afternoon Snack

After the after school program, Casey and I headed out to get groceries. I picked up two bottles of Bolthouse Farms Green Goodness. I'm hoping these will help bring my nutrient-intake up after last week. They're filled with 20 different natural ingredients including spinach and green tea. They also taste amazing! I'm not going to lie, it doesn't look like the most appetizing drink ever but it sure does taste good!


Dinner

It's amazing how much a stomach can shrink after just one week! After drinking a cup of the Green Goodness smoothie, I didn't have much room left for dinner. I had half a rack of barbeque ribs and called it quits. It was really delicious, but I just couldn't eat anything else.


I'm going to get to bed early again tonight to make sure I'm fully rested for a bit of a busier day tomorrow. I hope you all have a chance to rest up as well!
