There have been many debates as to whether or not resveratrol suppresses your appetite. Now while I can not speak for everyone, or give hard scientific data to answer this question, I personally have not had any decrease in appetite. For me it has been exactly the opposite!
So what should I do about the increased hunger? Well I handle it by eating more! My caloric intake has increased to approximately 2400-2600 calories per day. This is an increase from my original diet of 1600-1800 on workout days followed by 1200-1400 on off days. I love to eat so this is not a bad thing!
One might think I should be putting on "some extra weight", but the fact is I am actually maintaining my weight at a time when I was hoping to gain some. I know some of you out there will want to "kill me" for saying that but it is the truth and we all have different goals. I am currently trying to gain muscle, maintain body fat of 12-14%, and increase my weight by 10lbs to 170 pounds.
What does this have to do with resveratrol? Well, I am eating ALOT more and I am no longer doing cardio workouts, but my weight has remained the same. I do not have another explanation for this other then the resveratrol. The rest of my nutrition and fitness regimen has remained unchanged. Perhaps the rats fed a high caloric diet were on to something?
