Relax Your Eyes With This Easy To Do Technique – Palming

Ahhh, here comes an extremely easy to do activity for your eyes, and yet, even for those who know about it, few actually do it.

Learn how to relax with the help of two very simple aids…your palms.

Palming is simply a technique of cupping your palms, and very gently placing them over your eyes.  This is NOT an exercise, rather, it’s a relaxing action.

The neat thing about palming is…you can do that almost anywhere, you can be at the office, at home, in bed…whatever, it works.

1 Start this with warm hands

2 Try to sit in a straight backed chair, nice and erect and comfortable.

3 Put a pillow, or something similar on your lap so you can rest your elbows on it (that way you don’t have to strain to hold your hands up)

4 Gently and lovingly close your eyes.

5 Again, gently place your warm palm (blow on your palms to heat them, or heat them which ever works for you…NOT HOT), place these warmed palms on your eyes, don’t put pressure on your eyes, but make sure there is no light coming in either.

6 As you do this, which is called palming, let your mind drift to pleasant thoughts, maybe happy memories, or happy upcoming events…well, you know the thoughts that cause you happiness and peace.

7 While you are sitting there, don’t push thoughts, rather, let your mind, your feelings dictate to you where they want to lead you

Do this for however long it makes you feel good. Do this as often, and as long as you can.  This is one of Dr Bates gems…
