Redundant Day

My back, rear delts, abs, and biceps are SO sore from yesterday’s workout! I love it! It means I did something right. LOL. I guess my body was wanting a change of pace in weight lifting!

And besides that, my metabolism is on fire! Yesterday I ate 6 protein packed small meals/snacks and my body couldn’t have been happier. I wasn’t weighed down at all and it’s keeping me burning fat.. this morning I woke up starving despite a small snack before bed!

I went with a favorite today.. protein pancakes! I switched up the recipe a bit today and blended 1/4 cup wheat bran, 1/4 cup Daisy 2% cottage cheese, 1/2 cup liquid egg whites, 1/2 scoop Biochem 100% Whey Carmel Swirl protein powder, cinnamon, ginger, and a pinch of baking powder with my stick blender. Then I cooked them up into pancakes! I’m still trying to kick my sugar-free maple syrup habit so I decided to try a different pancake topping today. I topped them with 3 tbsp Daisy 2% cottage cheese mixed with vanilla NuNaturals stevia and 1/2 cup microwaved (defrosted first) blueberries to form a sauce. Plus 1 tbsp chopped pecans!

Can you say yum? I didn’t even miss my beloved sf syrup!

But apparently my body is still trying to repair those broken down muscles because I was still hungry! So I had more cottage cheese (1/2 cup) mixed with vanilla stevia and cinnamon:

Some people may think that’s sodium overload but I actually have a really low blood pressure so it actually helps me out!

I was dying to go to the gym all morning and finally at 9:30 I left. Today’s focus was the “push” muscles- the chest, shoulders, and triceps. Here’s what I did:

And I worked up an appetite! When I got home I found a box waiting for me with this amazingness inside:

That’s right- 3 tubs of protein powder! Thank goodness because I ran out of my favorite one today. So naturally I had a double portion of Protein Brownie Batter:

No words! Just pure heaven :D haha!

Later on I made a trip to Big Lots and Smiths for a couple items for my family. When I got home I made a quick lunch of 6 oz chicken tenderloins, green beans, green chili, 2 tbsp Homemade Hummus, and Braggs:

It was yummy but my sweet tooth came a’ callin! You guys are going to kill me but I finished off lunch with this:

Protein cookie dough! Along with my two tubs of Biochem Protein Powder I also ordered a tub of BSN Dessert Protein Powder to try out. I got the cinnamon roll flavor because I heard it was good.. unfortunately I’m not that big a fan! It had a weird texture and flavor and plus it has splenda in it.. I think I prefer my trusty Biochem. Don’t get me wrong it was tasty and I definitely won’t let it go to waste, but I think I’ll stick with the natural stuff for my daily consumption!

A couple hours later I had another snack.. I may have just been thirsty but whatever- I like to eat! :D I had 1/2 cup Daisy 2% cottage cheese with vanilla stevia and 1 tsp Naturally More:

I’m sorry for such redundant eats today.. I just went with what I was craving!

For dinner I made a recipe from Juan Carlos-Cruz Calorie Countdown Cookbook- the Chili Con Carne Recipe. Since I adapted it a teeny bit I figured I’d give you the recipe! I simply cooked up 1 lb of lean ground turkey breast and then added 1/2 chopped onion, 1 tbsp minced garlic, 1 chopped orange bell pepper, 1 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp 100% cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 1/4 tsp salt. I sauteed that up for a couple minutes and then added 14 oz of organic chicken broth, 1/2 cup coffee, 1 can of organic diced tomatoes and let simmer for about 30 minutes. It made 4 servings. The recipe said to eat with cheese and chips but since I’m not a fan of either I just added extra cayenne pepper and 1 Light Laughing Cow cheese wedge to my portion (I do love LC!):

And I couldn’t resist dessert.. (darn hormones!) So I had a Cran-tastic Protein Muffin with 1 tsp Naturally More PB:
