Recipe: Brown Sugar Cream French Toast

Mornin’ guys!! It’s Wednesday, which means we’re up for another #WIAW recipe…and I’m on a semi-staycation with my best friend for my birthday! :)

Brown Sugar Cream French Toast


  • 4 oz. softened low-fat cream cheese
  • 1 C. Chobani vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbs. light brown sugar
  • 3 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 C. vanilla almond milk
  • 1 C. egg whites
  • 1 whole wheat French baguette, sliced thin
  • pure maple syrup


  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the cream cheese over medium heat until creamy, and add the Greek yogurt. Stir until smooth.
  2. Add the brown sugar and 1 tsp. of vanilla extract. Stir and keep warm over very low heat.
  3. In a small mixing bowl, add together the almond milk, egg whites, and the rest of the vanilla. Whisk until blended well.
  4. In a casserole dish, lay out the slices of bread and pour the egg and mill mixture over the top until the bread is covered. Allow the bread to soak for 2-3 minutes.
  5. As normal, grill the bread over medium-high heat, on each side, for about 3 minutes or until the egg is cooked.
  6. Place the bread on a plate, spoon the cream cheese-yogurt mixture over the bread and top with your favorite maple syrup.
