I won’t go too much into detail, but I thought I’d at least give a glimpse of my fashion week. I’ve done it in the past, but not like this–and it was an amazing and exciting and exhausting experience, all rolled into seven crazy days. I worked my butt off and had a great time doing it.

The picture above is a pre-show glimpse of Jen Kao’s spring 2014 show. It was the first show that I’ve ever attended just to watch, and not work, and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful start to my show-going career. I love Jen Kao–she is so talented and incredibly cool–and this collection was completely up my alley, complete with seventies meets nineties silk maxi dresses and flannel jumpsuits…and dogs. And “Jolene” playing in the background. I mean, come on.

Highlight number two was getting to see the amazingly talented Lou Doillon perform at the Jane Hotel for Barneys New York’s campaign party.  The video I have isn’t great, so I’ll spare y’all and just assure you that it was incredible live.

There were certainly many other highs, and all in all it was more than worth the sleep deprivation to get to experience the energy of the industry that I love at its strongest. I think change is definitely in the air for fashion week, and it will be interesting to see what happens as street style becomes less of a big deal and designers start to scale back. Whatever does eventually occur, I’m all set for the ride.

Oh, and this happened.
