raw carrot crackers, day 8

I believe it’s time for something a little bit more fulfilling, like crackers. The only problem with crackers is that I actually don’t like them… Most of the cracker recipes are based on flax seeds and they have this distinct flavor which kills everything else and you end up with eating pure flax. I know the fresh flax has no such taste, but we don’t grow flax in BG, so there is no fresh produce in here.

What I’ve managed to create though is a cracker without the flax seeds :) It’s a little bit breakable, but oh so delicious!

And, I’m sorry I skipped yesterday, but we ate out all day long. It’s easy – just order a normal raw vegan salad in any restaurant and they’ll deliver.

* Breakfast – green smoothie with banana, spinach, almond milk
* Snack – an apple
* Lunch – fresh green salad with almond cheese, recipe from the book
* Snack – raw pineapple dessert
* Dinner – fresh salad with carrot crackers, recipe follows.

  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1 cup mixed nuts (I used sunflower seeds, pine nuts & brazil nuts)
Instructions:

1. Wash and grate the carrots.
2. Blend everything using the S blade.
3. Spread the mixture evenly on a paraflexx sheet.
4. Dehydrate for 1 hour at 145 F, then reduce the heat to 115 F and dehydrate for 8 more hours.
5. Store in the fridge and enjoy at any time.

  • 1 чаша настъргани моркови
  • 1 чаша тиквени семки
  • 1 чаша микс от ядки (слънчогледово семе, бразилски орех и кедрови ядки)
инструкции:

1. Измийте и настържете моркова.
2. Блендирайте всичко използвайки S ножа на кухненския робот.
3. Разстелете сместта равномерно върху парафлекс лист.
4. Дехидрирайте за 1 час на 145 F, след това намалете температурата до 115 F и дехидрирайте още 8 часа.
5. Съхранявайте в стъклен съд в хладилник.
