Even though this will be my 7th half marathon, race week is still full of all kinds of nerves for me. This race has a few more stressors than usual because I’m travelling for the race AND I’m hoping to PR.
Here’s what is helping me not completely lose it:
*Scheduling workouts. I ran tonight, am hitting Refine Method tomorrow night, will be Crossfit -ing and running Wednesday, yoga-ing Thursday, and running Friday.
*Making lists and getting organized. I already know what I need to pack and have clean laundry and stopped by Jack Rabbit for race fuel.
*Making sure I’m eating well. Fruits, veggies, protein and whole grains are my focus – I’m limiting processed foods, sugar and alcohol, and drinking tons of water all week long.
*Talking to my coaches . These ladies know how to put me at ease.
*Getting excited! I am super stoked to spend the weekend in DC with some of my favorite ladies – I know that I will still have a fun weekend and a fun race even if I don’t PR.
Now I just need to find something green to run in…
