She's my favorite trainer on the Biggest Loser and I love her No More Trouble Zones and 30 Day Shred. Her most recent book, Mastering Your Metabolism, really made me rethink my diet. And while I wouldn't say it was a perfect book, it did convince me to finally avoid HFCS and hydrogenated oils while opting for natural and organic foods when possible. She even has a cook book based on Mastering Your Metabolism coming out at the end of April. (I'm sure I'll be buying that one, too.)
A couple of weeks I ago I hit a little bit of a workout rut and went on a hunt for some new exercise DVDs. I ended up with Michael's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism ($8.99) and her newest venture Yoga Meltdown ($10.99) (I'll deliver the verdict on Yoga Meltdown later this week.)
I tend to have a hard time with aerobic videos. Coordination is not a strong point and if the moves are too complicated I end up a tangled heap on the floor. Banish consists of six cardio circuits that are both easy to follow and guaranteed to push you. She relies on some old school favorites like moutain climbers and burpees. Who doesn't love those, right? Michaels also incorporates some cardio kick boxing moves which I loved. In all the video is about 50 minutes long with a short warm-up and cool down and a 40 minute cardio workout.
To Keep or Not to Keep? This one is definitely going to find a place in my weekly workout schedule.
