Q&A with Barefoot Atlas Founder

In the spirit of giving and the holidays we wanted to highlight organizations that are doing extraordinary things. Charlottesville, Va. residents Devin Welch and Alexandra Lowe merged their passions for humanitarian causes and travel to create Barefoot Atlas, a nonprofit organization that connects people with volunteer opportunities in third-world countries. After traveling extensively throughout Central America the duo compiled their findings into a series of guidebooks and an online database. Their guidebooks provide extensive information on grassroots organizations that focus on education, conservation, agriculture, children, wildlife, etc. Co-founder Devin Welch shares his inspiration to start the organization, how it got off the ground, and current work creating guides for Peru and Ecuador. ...
