I need to sneak a workout and then it’s time to go grocery shopping and start the count down to the Oscar’s.
Back to the title of this post, I got to dine at Pure Food and Wine last Friday with my lovely college roommates. Not that I have never posted about Pure, but it’s always a delightful treat, so I like to give it a shout out when I get to visit. It was particularly exciting because I had a 30% off discount that I bought for only $1 on Blackboard Eats ! As a further aside, when I walked in, they were playing Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys, one of my favorite songs of all timeit makes me melt!
I always stick to the staples at Pure, I can’t seem to deviate, although I am never disappointed on the rare occasion that I do. I was mighty tempted by new offerings including: a wilted greens salad with dates and pad thai!
Here’s a look at what we got:
Hazelnut Crostinis with Crimini Mushrooms and Caper Bearnaise, caraway, sauerkraut, local apple cider reduction
Spicy Lettuce Wraps
S and M Salad (me)
Sweet Corn and Cashew Tamales!
In honor of my delicious dinner, I am going to have a little Pure Giveaway on the blog tomorrow, make sure to come back, you don’t want to miss it!
Moving on to Saturday, unfortunately, I woke up yesterday with a piercing migraine and had to miss running with Ashley and Theodora . I made up for it later when it subsided and I felt better, but it’s always less fun alone!
For last night’s dinner, I headed to sushi samba for some very yummy, but very pricey sushi:
On Sundays, I always cook, but tonight I have something exciting store, I’ll recap tomorrow. Last week, was a giant salad and butternut squash, sweet potato and apple soup . I followed the recipe that I linked to, but added way more spices: cinnamon, cumin, nutmeg, red pepper flakes and tons of cayenneit was super spicy, just the way I like it. It still amazes me that it comes piping hot out of the vitamix!!
Have a great sunday! I’ll be back tomorrow to reveal my “pure giveaway” and what is on tonight’s mystery menu : )
PS. Dear NYC,
Please do not get even one degree colder than it is outside on this beautiful day. We must move bravely toward spring and boldly away from this never ending bone-chilling winter!
