As I'm writing this it is officially the FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!! Yes, I am excited. The last week I have had a really great spring break hanging out with my girlfriends doing happy hour, the lake, spring training and just out on the town. I don't get to spend alot of time with them because I am so busy with school so it was nice to have some girl time. Today though, the fatkid and I were fully domesticated. After breakfast we went to Home Depot to pick out some flowers to plant in the three potters we have in our backyard. The faktid's mom is coming to visit and see the house for the first time so everything has to be perfect.  We did our grocery shopping and then came home to try some planting.  Because we just moved into our house about six months ago we only got to see our beautiful backyard in bloom for about a month and just this week everything has started to come back to life. I actually discovered one of the smaller trees is an orange tree when I was out there yesterday! So exciting because we are always buying them.

But - back to planting - we didn't even realize today was technically spring when we started this project,  how appropriate.

These are the flowers we spent at least an hour picking out.

Annnd I got a blackberry bush..tree...bush..vine??

Our three potters before our fabulous gardening skills:

And these are the potters after we did our magic!! I have to say, gardening is seriously hard work, my back was killing me. My dad has a huge garden with greens and veggies and I did not realize how taxing it could be physically - hats off pops!

They might look a little sparse but when they start blooming it will fill completely out.
Last but not least, my blackberry vine..? :)

After we finished with the gardening the fatkid decided to re-wire our whole tv/dvd/cable/surround sound/xbox which was interesting and time consuming - there were some holes put into our walls but it turned out great. After I unpacked all our food from Costco and separated it all out (I am a big fan of washing and portioning fruits and veggies asap so they are ready to go in the fridge) I made our  "clean" turkey chili  for lunches and made another (3rd) attempt a "clean" zucchini bread and failed miserably :( They keep coming out wet on the inside, even after I cook them for the longest recommended time.  Oh well, there's always tomorrow.
As far as my  three goals for this last week :Try three new recipes
Gym or yoga every day
Start and keep using the fitness journal I bought - did not succeed at this one.
Goals for the upcoming week:USE MY FITNESS/DIET JOURNALdo my  kick butt  routine at least twice perfect my "clean" zucchini bread recipe
Happy spring!
