Chia seeds typically soften and turn into a gel-like substance when added to liquids or foods like oatmeal, so I was expecting them to blend into the mixture. However, with the refrigeration of the bars, the chia seeds remained true to form and provided a crunch in place of the normally fudge-like consistency of the bars. Coach said he preferred them to the originals. Winning! I prefer them too because I know these little chia seeds deliver more omega-3, fiber and protein than any other food their size. And, they are so versatile, you can add them to virtually anything. Edit: I ate more for WIAW not pictured, but had to include a shout out to Peas & Crayons for the stellar link-up party on Wednesdays. Have you tried chia seeds? What is the most recent movie you watched? - We just watch Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and it was SO GOOD (warning-violent). I read the triology and thought the movie held up it's end. Coach never read the books and still loved it. |

Peanut butter is my go-to snack, but it's also Cooper's favorite treat. His favorite sound might be the scraping of the jar, because that means he gets to lick the remaining peanut butter.
I was mixing up a batch of my NO BAKE protein bars and wanted to substitute the ground flax seed with my new obsession, chia seeds .
I added a 1/4 cup of black chia seeds to the PB & honey mixture.
