The carbohydrates present in pistachio nuts makes up for twenty percent of the total calorie content. Thirteen percent of the calories come from proteins. Three ounces of pistachio nuts have about four hundred calories in them. Yes it has lot of calories but still it is very healthy to include some of these nuts in your diet. After three weeks of the diet, the researchers from the Medical Faculty of the Harran University in Turkey, found that plasma levels of total cholesterol decreased by 12 percent for the pistachio group, compared to baseline, and HDL cholesterol levels increased by 26 percent.

No significant changes in any of these levels were observed for the normal diet group.”
