Peanut Butter Love

Posted Aug 28 2011 9:10am

Oh, hello lovely.

What is that on top of my oats, you ask?

That would be Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter, my friends.

The lovely people over at Peanut Butter & Co in NYC were kind enough to send me three of their peanut butter flavors to sample.

After constantly writing about my obsession with White Chocolate Wonderful, which I dubbed Heaven in a Jar , I was delighted to try more!

After numerous peanut butter fingers…

I can honestly say WOW these flavors pack a punch!

Let’s start with The Bee’s Knees, shall we?

This is just a perfect flavor. To me, there is a slight touch of honey mixed in with the peanut butter taste that we all know and love. Out of the three, I would say this is my favorite and goes really good on a old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

The Heat is On. Well, they’re not kidding. I tasted the tiniest bit while opening the jar and accidentally getting some on my finger. Holy crow that is no joke!! It was so spicy that I screamed and literally had to get a drink. I kid you not. Now, some people are into that spiciness on everything, but not me. Don’t get me wrong, I like a little kick once in a while, but not in my peanut butter. This flavor was not for me, friends.

Taking a closer look, you can see all the spices mixed in. Cayenne, Red Pepper…the list goes on and on.

Now Pete, on the other hand, was basically stroking the jar. With dreams of Football Sundays in his head, he pictured a nice platter with celery, boneless wings, and The Heat is On as a dipping sauce. He also claims it to be great on bagels. Hey, whatever floats your boat love.

Last, some Dark Chocolate Dreams, which you saw above in my oats. It was certainly dreamy. I was basically expecting to taste a smooth Reeses flavor, but it was more of a dark chocolate sweetness. To me, the dark chocolate was more dominant than the peanut butter, so I’m not sure how this would be on sandwich bread. However, it was amazing in my oats. I think it would pair really well with anything you’d dip into a chocolate fountain or be great on top of French Vanilla ice cream.

Speaking of dessert! I mixed in DCD with this chocolate chip cookie recipe to bring to the hospital the other night when my sister-in-law had a baby girl. These were BANGIN and enjoyed by all!

Thanks, Peanut Butter & Co for letting me sample some flavors. I’m kinda obsessed so, um, anytime you want to send more, you have my address- I’d love to try your jelly ;)

Have you ever tried any of Peanut Butter & Co’s products? If so, which ones and what did you think?

What is your favorite nut butter?

*Disclaimer: Peanut Butter & Co sent me their products to try for free, but all opinions and reviews are my own.*
