Home Baby Part two: Weekend recap (baby stuff galore!)

Hello again!

I’m back with part two of my weekend recap.  You can check out part one here if you missed it.

On Saturday morning, Michael and I hit up both Babies ‘R Us and Buy Buy Baby.   Our mission was to buy the high chair, car seat, and stroller.   Unfortunately, we completely struck out at Babies ‘R Us, but we hit the jackpot in Buy Buy Baby!

The sales woman who assisted us was incredibly helpful. For anyone who lives in the Charlotte area, her name is AJ, and she rocks.

Anyway, we knew that we wanted a travel system stroller, and she helped us select one by City Mini.  I was very excited with it and had lots of fun pushing it around the store.

To anyone watching, I’m sure that I had “first-time mother” written all over me.

The City Mini knocked the car seat and the stroller off our list.  We also got a base for Michael’s car, so we can easily switch the car seat back and forth.

After AJ helped us with that stuff, we selected the Oxo Tot high chair which matches our kitchen perfectly!

Here’s the chair all put together.  For anyone looking to get one, I highly suggest this brand.  This chair is such great quality, and it is adjustable, so it grows with your child.

We love it already!

Since the stroller wasn’t in stock, the store had to order it for us.  As I was giving AJ our mailing information, Michael wandered off to the Sesame Street display.

He came back with a Cookie Monster stuffed animal and said that the baby absolutely needed to have it.  I told him that I agreed, but I also thought the baby needed a Grover.

And both Cookie Monster and Grover came home with us. :)

After our productive shopping trip, we hit up Subway for lunch where I got my usual.

The weekend also consisted of dinner at Bad Daddy’s, a fun drive in the car,  movie watching, and pool time.

Last night, we were watching TV, and I told Michael that I had a craving for Krispy Kreme.  The next thing we knew, we were in the car with Lucy at 9:30 pm on our way to get some doughnuts.

We may have gone a bit overboard.  I certainly have a bad case of sugar shock today!  I’m actually drinking a green smoothie right now to put my poor body back in balance.

OK, it’s your turn.  What did you do this weekend?

I’m making a new side dish tonight, and if all goes well, I’ll share with with you tomorrow.  Hint: It involves sweet potatoes. ;)

Have a great rest of the day!

  1. Love Buy Buy Baby! They are soooo helpful there. It really is the mecca of baby-places. We have the City Elite and it’s really great, although slightly bigger than we’d like.

It looks like you’re having a blast buying stuff…keep enjoying it :)
