I hope that, if you celebrated, you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Michael’s first Thanksgiving was so much fun!
Unlike last year, we only had two stops to make because MT’s parents hosted an early Thanksgiving dinner on the previous Tuesday (complete with some yummy honey-baked ham).
It made for a much more relaxing Thanksgiving day, and it was nice to spread out the fun over the course of a few days.
My little family (minus big Lucy) arrived at my parent’s house by early afternoon, and we got to visit with everyone for awhile and take a ton of pictures before eating.
If you can believe it, it was the first time that the three of us posed for a photo together. Sadly, no one took any family shots at the hospital.
Anyway, the food was great. The company was great. And the baby was a total angel and pretty much slept the entire day away.
Too much turkey, baby Michael?
Later that afternoon, we were off to visit MT’s grandmother who always impresses me by working so hard to make the day special for her family.
I must say that she’s an impressive lady all around though. Even in her late 80s, she still volunteers at the local hospital, takes vacations and day trips with her friends, and manages a bunch of rental homes.
I hope to be just like her when I am that age!
After packing up a ton of leftovers for the week, we were on our way home.
Luckily, I wasn’t completely stuffed by the end of the day, and I was able to enjoy a slice of my mother’s amazing homemade pumpkin pie while watching A Christmas Story with MT.
By the way, watching that movie is our Thanksgiving tradition. We’ve only been doing it for two or three years now, but hopefully, we can carry on the new tradition for many leg lamp-filled years to come.
Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions? Have you watched any holiday movies yet? Home Alone and Elf are next on my must-watch list!
I’ll be posting part two of my weekend recap tomorrow.
Have a great day!
Sounds like a relaxing Thanksgiving for you and your family – love the family shot. My family watched Trains, Planes and Automobiles – still need to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Love the Christmas Story too. Have a Great Week:)
