I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend. I’m just going to jump right into my recap…
As I told you on Saturday, Michael returned from a business trip to Argentina on Friday afternoon. He was gone for the entire week, so it was really great to have him home again.
I started having Braxton Hicks contractions for the first time while he was away, and even though I know that they are perfectly normal, my mind started to play tricks on me. It is just more comforting to have my husband home when that happens!
Although he had just returned from a very long and exhausting trip, Michael was still up for a date night, so we went to a restaurant recommended to us by some friends called Ilios Noche on Friday night.
The restaurant impressed me right away with their warm bread.
According to my bread basket rule, I need to eat the bread when it’s fresh and hot, so I happily ate a piece.
I don’t like to break rules.
Michael and I were overwhelmed at first by all of the unusual options on the menu and didn’t know what to choose.
When we go out to eat, I can usually make my decision immediately and never have to ask the waiter/waitress for more time. That night, it took us both awhile though.
There were just so many dishes that sounded so interesting.
After all was said and done, we both went the boring (but yummy) route.
Michael ordered a burger and Greek fries, and I had a piece of salmon (shocker!) that came with a mixture of cucumber, red onion, black olives, and tomato in oil and vinegar.
We both loved our meals and definitely plan to return soon. Next time, I’ll be more adventurous. I really want to order the zucchini and eggplant chips (an appetizer) and the organic quinoa (a side dish).
It was actually really exciting (because I’m a dork) to see quinoa offered on a menu. Hopefully, it’s becoming more mainstream.

I always get overwhelmed if there is a TON on the menu! It takes me forever to decide because I usually narrow it down to two options and then have trouble choosing. This restaurant looks delish, especially those Greek fries! YUM
Your hubbie hopefully does not have too many more trips planned because D-day is approaching:)
I am adventurous when it comes to food. I remember this one place back in the Midwest and the menu was like a 30 page book – it was horrible and you never had time to look at it all so it got boring because you usually ended up ordering the same thing.
