In the development where I live, there’s a neighborhood-wide yard sale about twice a year. Since I’m still nesting like crazy, I decided to do a major clean-up at home and sell some of our unwanted items.
Unfortunately, participating in the yard sale meant having to wake up at 5:30 on Saturday morning.
Thankfully, it was worth it in the end.
Even though the sale technically started at 7 am, 80% of my inventory was sold by 6 am!
I’m pretty sure that I can thank my next-door-neighbors for the success. They were selling fresh coffee and cookies which lured people onto our street like nuts.
I have to admit that I thought about spending some of my earnings on those cookies myself, but I decided to go back to bed instead.
Later that day, my wonderful friends Jen, Sara, and Kirsten arrived to set up for my second baby shower (you can read about my first one here).
Here’s my shower bump shot.
Those three ladies are amazing and really did a wonderful job.
Jen even made dairy-free vegan cupcakes that looked like were made by a professional. I think she should seriously consider making a career change.
By the way, I was the first one to grab a cupcake. Apparently, everyone else remembered what their mother’s taught them as children, and they ate the veggies and fruit first.
After we all finished eating (and the other girls finally had some cupcakes), it was time to play some shower games.
Jen had a box of obscure/odd-looking items needed for the baby or myself, and I had to guess the uses of each. Some of the things terrified me a bit (and I’ll leave it at that), but I did a pretty good job of guessing most of them.
Maybe that means I’m actually ready for this baby stuff?
Once my time in the hot seat was up, the girls had to guess how old I was in a bunch of baby photos provided by my sweet little mama. It was so much fun to see all of those old pictures…and luckily none of them were too embarrassing.
Then it was time for me to open some presents. Let’s just say that Baby Turner is a very spoiled little man already. We both got some great things!
One of the best parts of the shower was that each lady filled out a “wishes for baby” sheet. I had so much fun reading them that evening.
My favorite wish came from Sara who filled in the blank after “I hope you love…” with “Lionel Richie”.
Do my friends know me or what?
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again…
I am so incredibly lucky to have such wonderful friends. Thanks again for the beautiful shower, Ladies!
(I’ll be back later to recap the rest of my weekend- which will mainly consist of things that I ate. This baby really turned me into a bottomless pit.)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment. I’ve been catching up on your latest photos and you are seriously so. cute. pregnant! Congrats! I’d love for you to follow For All Thinga Lovely! xx.
