P90X Before Pictures & Fit Test Results

Posted Jan 03 2011 11:43am

Bulking is fine, but now it’s time to cut! I am so excited. I have been preparing for P90X since I decided to take the challenge and today I feel prepared. I took my before pics and I also completed my Fit Test yesterday (that I dreaded doing all weekend) with flying colors.

But do I look fit? Hell to the no, but I am. I have to get this last layer of fat off to actually look like I’m fit. I have been rotating every 6 weeks between bulking (building muscle mass) and cutting (decreasing body fat). So far, it’s been working. I decided long ago that I want big muscles like Popeye. I kid you not so my diet is fixed to do this and we’ll see what P90X can do for the rest.

I am going to do my best not to do other workouts along with P90X, but if I do add something to this rotation it will be several sets of push up pyramids (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2) and timed brick moving (I was able to get a large pile of cinder blocks for my backyard and I move them from the front of the backyard to the end of the backyard = haven’t measured the distance, but it’s a long one).

I have viewed all of the P90X workouts so I know what it’s all about. I will post my initial thoughts on every workout I do this week. Today I start with Chest and Back which is going to kill me judging by the massive amounts/variations of push ups and pull ups going on in it. Tony is crazy. I thought Cathe’s Chest and Back workouts were killer…nah baby and I love Cathe.

Below are my before photos (I should have grabbed a newspaper - I suck!) and my fit test results. Comment if you have any guidance or advice for me especially if you are a P90X grad. I also need encouragement to keep up with the rotation because I have never been able to finish a 3 month rotation, but only 2 times because I get bored and start doing my own thing. I hope to not do this time. I’ll let you all know if it happens so I can get spanked.

Hubby took these pics with my Iphone. I still can’t find my camera’s battery and it’s really annoying. Anyway, welcome to the flab fest!!! It’s not that bad, it could have been worse…well it was two years ago. I don’t have any problem areas I’m concerned about because you can’t spot reduce fat. I am proud of my current flaws because two years ago I was wearing a size 20 people so this little mess I got going on here is nada.

Stop laughing at me and the silly P90X pose I’m doing.  I’m not flexing at all either.  For some reason I look short, but I’m tall ya’ll (5′10).  And I look like I’m pear shaped from the back, but I’m not.  Hmmmmm.  LOL!  This is how you have to pose if you all didn’t know…ha!

Why workout at all? It’s not which program or workouts you do, it’s just as long as you do them and eat well is what counts. If you do this simple thing you will get results and you will reach your goals. There is no doubt about it.

Personally, I just want to look like my best self, to look amazing in a bikini, to look amazing to my future clients, to be able to pick up heavy amounts of weight and move it all w/o the struggle/hurt, to be able to run fast and for long periods of time, to be able to jump high and for long periods of time as well, to be able to master high intensity/impact cardio and to be able to do everyday things with no problems when I’m well into my 90s. I just want to stay the advanced exerciser I am for as long as I can. Period. That’s all! It can be super boring doing the same workouts, programs and rotations all the time so I switch them up often and this time I chose P90X. Also, I want to be able to tell my subscribers what results P90X will help you to achieve and I can’t do that if I don’t do the program, right? Right!

People tell me all the time that I should register and run a race or a marathon, compete in the bodybuilding circuit…that stuff ain’t me. They say I should be a trainer and I find that I do have an interest in training ordinary people, like myself, how to get into the habit of moving and eating healthily so I’m going to give that a try this year. More about NASM and ACE certifications coming soon.

I plan to take a 30 day, 60 day and 90 day photos to chart my progress and to do a little blogging about P90X as I go. The bikini I’m wearing in the photos doesn’t entirely fit, bought it last summer on purpose and I never wore it before so let’s see if I can start to fit it the right way as I go through these 90 days.

Work hard and never give up!  Have a very Happy New Year guys!
