overeating

overeating Follow Me on Pinterest Do you get excited by looking at the menu in your favorite restaurant or order all the dishes on the menu just because you’re confused about what to order? Or do you binge eat while watching TV or perhaps allow yourself a treat while following a diet? Whatever may be the reasons, overeating always is a bad habit

You should observe your eating habits, and decipher the very things that trigger your overeating. By educating yourself on the following simple steps, you can avoid overeating.

Friends’ circle You may be going with your friends to a restaurant, and be tempted to have fried food; even if you are on a healthy diet. Remind yourself of your diet plans (such as losing weight and staying fit). You have to be firm on your decisions and not be led purely by your emotions or food cravings. Sooner or later, your friends will begin to respect your choice of following your healthy diet plans.

Plate size The crockery and cutlery you use in your everyday life also plays a major part. Fancy over-sized plates may look good in the restaurants, but you should use medium size plates for your everyday meals. You can just try this to see the difference in you eating habits.

Burning out Usually when we get tired, we try to compensate it with overeating. This should not be the case. The source of your overeating is not hunger. Instead, your tiredness can be explained by your lack of sleep. One should have between six to eight hours of sleep

Eating too fast Do you have a habit of wolfing down your food? Do you finish your meal in less than 5 minutes no matter its size? If you are finishing your food too fast, then you are at the risk of overeating.

Remember to eat your food slowly, while enjoying every bit of it. Train yourself to chew your food properly and put the spoon down after every bite. Eating your food with your fingers also gives you sense of satisfaction and fulfills your appetite. You can try it out by bending eating etiquettes. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that (especially when you’re at home).

Hydrate often When you are short of fluids, you tend to feel dehydrated, which in turn can cause you to overeat. Keep on sipping water throughout the day. In addition, have a glass of water before every meal. This will give you the feeling of fullness, and prevent you from overeating.
