The mission this past weekend was to get outside and enjoy a gorgeous sunny day in Western WA…
Our day adventure to Mt. Rainier with our neighbors was a ton of fun. AND it provided a prime opportunity to play with our new camera… A gift from the Fireman (aka my hubby), a Canon Rebel t3i ♥. I would say the photos are a huge improvement from past pictures. Although, I am still trying to figure it all out.
A recap in photos….
We hiked along a trail with awesome views!
Ate lunch at an idyllic spot. (Forgot to snap photos of our picnic lunch.)
Played in the snow! Yes — SNOW, in sunny 60 degree weather!
Ran into our little fox friend.
Checked out the lodge at Paradise on Mt. Rainier.
Took a coffee break.
Soaked in a few more awesome views… Can you smell the fresh air?
And ended the day with a relaxing fire. Accompanied by a glass of Knob Creek Bourbon.
I even have my own personal fire whisperer. I don’t call him “The Fireman” for nothing.
Unfortunately, although relaxing and rejuvenating, the one thing the fresh mountain air could not cure was my lingering cold/flu that resulted after my trip to Colorado last week.
After over a week of feeling crummy and resting, I was in high hopes that a day outside and a positive outlook was just what I needed to recoup. Sadly, I was wrong. Went to the doctor this morning to find out I have a severe sinus infection. So that’s why Excedrin wasn’t working? And all along I thought I had a migraine. I’m brilliant.
On my agenda this week — Operation GET WELL, take my antibiotics religiously, and get ride of this horrid sinus pain so I can think clearly again and get back to work.
