On the Road

Posted Dec 22 2012 5:59pm
Hello friends!  I am trying to blog from the road. Let's see how this works out shall we!
Kyle and I are 6 hours into our 11.5 hour drive to Virginia for Christmas. I love,  LOVE being home for the holidays,  but this drive is tough. I knocked out the first three hours and Kyle is at the wheel the rest of the way. I have "old lady syndrome" and I hate driving at night.
This morning I was in a whirlwind of packing,  but I made a point to get a run in. I braved the cold (41 degrees) for a 2.75 mile jog with an 8:40 average pace. Kyle got up at 5:30 to workout before her first clients today. When sitting...must sweat before.

The hardest part about long drives like this for me is boredom and food. I really don't love fast food. And it sits like a brick in the car!  I packed two full bags full of meals, fruit,  mini sweet peppers,  lentil chips,  and water. Our meals included leftover shrimp and spinach,  chicken and rice,  canned tuna,  and a chicken Caesar wrap I put together for Kyle. I do see a soda stop in our future!

We are amusing ourselves with the new TI cd and sharing memories of Christmas pasts. I also did some photo albuming. Is that a word?
Where are you spending this Christmas?

What do you eat on long car rides?

Love and cruise control,
Carissa & Kyle
