I woke up this morning after a night of listening to the wind blow & blow & blow AND blow. I’ve said it before & I will say it again...I HATE RUNNING IN THE WIND!
When I woke up, it was STILL blowing, but at least it was warm (40’s). So, I ate my breakfast/pre-run meal of 2 pieces of toast with strawberry jam. I waited 1/2 hour for the wind to stop...it didn’t...but I went out the door anyway.
I made it 13.75 miles in 2 hours and 5 min [just over 9:00 pace]. The wind only sucked part of the time, and my soleus was a little sore. I had to stop & stretch a couple times (which felt WONDERFUL).
My man was on call throughout the run...I told him when I left, “I’m just gonna run until I can’t take it anymore (the wind), so be ready to come get me.” Total lack of faith in myself...but come on...I HATE THE WIND!!
I really, really don’t know how I could ever run another 12.5 miles to make a full marathon. That’s just INSANE! But, I guess at one time I said there is no way I could run 14 miles. But, look what happened today. One foot in front of another, right?!!
