Good morning and Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend! We had a blast Saturday off-roading at Skinner Mountain with some of our friends. You can check out our day in numbers at yesterday’s post. Click HERE to read more about Skinner Mountain.
We left our house in Knoxville around 8:30 AM Saturday morning in a fairly clean Jeep.
After a drive to Jamestown to meet up with everyone, we started out on the trails. It was a beautiful day – not too hot, not too cold, very few clouds, no rain.
Already the Jeep is showing some dirt.
One of the many caves in the area.
One of the MANY, MANY mud puddles we went through Saturday. Seriously. Some were less than an inch deep and some were as deep as the tires
We cooked our lunch on rocks overlooking the valley. This was my view at lunch! Breathtaking!
Wearing my UT Orange to support my Vols (who beat South Alabama)!
Me and my friend M!
Dessert was s’mores cooked right over the campfire!
Check out this bug that wanted to join in on the party! He crawled on my 31 bag and on J’s back pack.
An amazing view! Such a beautiful day.
Love these old (dead) trees. Certainly had the feel of Fall/Halloween.
We all stood on the rock during lunch. Then we realized it moved. Enough of the rock.
Check out the bird in the clouds.
A different view. We left the lunch spot and headed to another outlook.
Love the way the clouds made shadows on the valley below.
Starting to see some Fall color. We plan to go off-roading again in a few weeks!
Check out the mud on the Jeep! It continued to get worse throughout the day.
Goats! We don’t really know what they were doing, but there were quite a few of them roaming at this house.
This is Tay’s – a grocery store and home of the famous bologna sandwich. Hubby and I shared one and I have to admit it was pretty good.
Check out their Jeep! It made ours look like a toy!
Dune buggy! These were the only two cars we saw on the trail our entire time.
More mud on our Jeep!
This mud puddle started about a mile of almost mud trails. It was so deep at one point mud came in the Jeep and got on the upholstery and ME! Luckily I had a change of clothes for when we finished. Hubby spent most of yesterday trying to get all the mud off the Jeep.
Back at our hosts’ house – exploring their farm and taking some photos.
