Hey, I’ve missed blogging the last few days, but have really enjoyed catching up on some of my b-reading this week!
My weekend on Island Paradise was fabulous. I am so ridiculously in love with Martha’s Vineyard that I was practically floating the whole time, and was fairly obnoxious about my love affair to everyone around me. You only think I love NYC, haha. Over the two days, I acquired two nicknames, “beach professional” and “vineyard enthusiast” both of which I fully accept.
I literally took almost no pictures! I know, I know. I am pretty slow figuring this camera out. This is the only photo I have of me. And Liz. I have some of the other folks, but ya’ll know i only post bloggers, family and those that give me the a-ok.
Um the beach professional somehow brought the suntan lotion to the island, but in her bag of a thousand things, it was the one thing that didn’t actually make it to the beach! Oops.
I did get a couple great shots of the beach (above and below)

Thanks so much to my friend Derek for his ridiculous generosity in driving all night friday and sunday, and for sharing his absolutely gorgeous home with us.
While I had an amazing time on vacay, the whole weekend run thing didn’t really go as planned. I only managed to fit in a 30 minute run/walk after arriving saturday morning–which was sort of sad, but oddly impressive since I was running on sub-four hours sleep.
My energy was ridiculously high all weekend, despite a total of 4 days over the course of the week without a workout. I also ate my weight in Mad Martha’s ice cream; I actually had it for breakfast and dinner on Sunday.
Oh well, I got back on track this morning with a great complimentary class Core Fusion at the new Exhale Spa location at the Hotel Gansevoort.
Dori did an absolutely amazing review, so definitely check hers out.
I really enjoyed my class, I definitely liked the studio, which was not as stunning as the Central Park South spa, but a million times nicer than the temporary downtown studio I frequent most often. The studio is spacious with a plush brown carpet. No mirrors, which doesn’t really bother me. I took my first class with Barbara (Dori’s fav). She was very enthusiastic and her explanations and encouragement made the time fly by! It was definitely a class for beginners, but I felt a nice burn walking up the stairs to my office in the afternoon, so even an easier class, isn’t all that easy.
PS The ab section of the Core Fusion Body Sculpt video is KILLER! If you don’t live near an Exhale, the DVD is a great cheap option.
I was nervous I wouldn’t make it to the class, since I am still way behind on sleep, but I made it in time for the 7AM class no problemo. I have to say I love walking through the meatpacking district when it is empty, there is something so nice about the solitude. The Gansevoort is not exactly the place I would look for solitude other than in the early hours. Plunge Bar is quite the hotspot in the summer, and even has a bikini brunch I have been anxious to check out.
Tonight I visited a very different type of hot spot, the original Astoria Beer Garde n. While I am not a beer person at all, I do love the beer garden! I said goodbye to a friend moving across the country, and had dinner with a friend in Astoria. It’s great to be busy, but I must admit, I am absolutely thrilled that I actually have nothing to do tomorrow night! So I guess that means, I have a date with you sexy kids–and the washing machine! xoxo
