Do you know what? Hemp is not
marijuana. I did a thorough extensive search to find out this. To make matters
clear marijuana and hemp are different varieties of the same species of plant. Hemp
has a minimal amount of 1% of the psychotrophic chemical THC whereas, marijuana
is hemp’s THC rich cousin.
Having got cleared about the
main issue let us move towards the health benefits of hemp. The hemp seeds can be
eaten as such, grounded, sprouted, made into hemp milk made as tea and can be
used in baking. It is treasure trove of nutrients. It contains essential fatty
acids such as linoleic acid, omega 3 fatty acids and omega 6 fatty acids. The proteins
present in hemp contain all the essential 21 amino acids and that includes the
nine essential amino acids which the human body cannot produce.
Hemp is a very good source of
protein for vegetarians. It does not cause any food allergy. Even people who
have the glucose and lactose intolerance can enjoy hemp foods. Hemp protein is
easily digestible because it is not made of complex sugars which lead to flatulence
if not properly digested.
Hemp is good for your heart
because the essential fatty acids in hemp prevent plaque formation in arteries
and reduces blood pressure. It is rich in antioxidants and promotes healthy
skin and a sharp mind. It suppresses the appetite naturally and hence results
in weight loss. Due to its high antioxidant content it prevents cancer and is a
must for diabetic patients or the ones at risk.
Hemp seed milk is a creamy
and nutty beverage. It does not contain THC. Instead it contains essential
fatty acids, minerals and vitamins. The hemp milk is easily digestible and does
not cause any allergic reactions. Hope you have enough evidence to give hemp a
try. The hemp oil has good nutritional benefits and can be included in your way
of cooking. It is rich in essential fatty acids. Cold pressed and unrefined hemp
seed oil is dark green in color and has a nutty flavor. Refined hemp seed oil
does not contain the natural antioxidants and vitamins.
As the year draws to a close
you may have some unfulfilled dreams, hopes and desires about your health or
whatsoever be for that matter. Remember there is always a new beginning, a new tomorrow,
a new hope and a new dawn. Congratulate yourself for what you have achieved
under the given conditions and circumstances. Brace yourself with new energy,
new hope and a new you towards a better tomorrow, better hope and a brighter
future.
I wish you all the success and happiness in
the coming New Year.
