Hi!

Today we went to Cerina’s one week post surgery appointment. And guess what? I was the one who removed the staples from her head! As an LPN I’m licensed to take care of patients in a hospital or clinic, give medications, give shots, take out IV’s, remove staples and stitches, perform minor procedures like inserting NG tubes and catheters, and other various things. I was surprised that they let me take them out of her though, considering I didn’t work for them! It was pretty great. Anyway, the surgeon said that she is healing better and quicker than 99% of his patients..can you believe that?

Anyway, on to the food and workouts! My pre-and post workout meals were the same as they’ve been the past couple days. Today’s workout was Shoulders/Tris.. I was so excited I got up to the big boy weights on the dumbbell shoulder press!

Regular Sets:

  • Tricep Plyometric Push Up (in push up position, keep elbows near chest, do a push up so your nose almost touches the ground, then hop your arms off the ground)- 4 sets until complete failure
  • Tricep Push Down- 42.5 pounds, 4 sets of 10, 9, 9, 9

Superset:

  • Lateral Raises (straight arm)- 15 pounds per arm, 4 sets of 10, 9, 8, 8 <-
  • Rear Delt Flies- 12.5 pounds per arm, 4 sets of 8

Regular Sets:

  • One-Arm Tricep Extension - 20 pounds and 15 pounds per arm (dropsets, basically), 4 sets of 8-10
  • Iso-Lateral Shoulder Press- 80 pounds, 3 sets of 4, 8, 8 <-what the heck happened with the 4? No clue!
  • Ground Base Jammer- (lower body didn’t move)- 28 pounds, 4 sets of 8
  • Rotator Cuff work- 5 pounds, 2 sets of 15

Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes Calories Burned: 485 Max HR: 190!

As I mentioned, I came home and had the same post workout meal as yesterday. Then I did odds and ends around the house and attempted to study. Before Spanish I decided to experiment a bit with my next meal. First, I cooked up 15 grams oatbran with 20 grams of NutraFiber. Once it was cooked I stirred in 2/3 cup egg whites and some mashed cauliflower (116 grams worth.) Once it was thick I added in stevia, cinnamon, and ginger. Topped it off with 1 tbsp coconut butter:

It was really yummy!

After class I came home and had my next meal. Yesterday Bryon brought me a present.. of grilled veggies! He always makes the best. I heated up the 8 oz worth of grilled zucchini and squash with 100 grams of chicken breast, 1 oz avocado, 1 tbsp sunflower seeds, and mustard:

Despite not having anything sweet, it was good :D

Afterwards we all headed to my sister’s appointment where I had the highlight of my day ;)

For dinner, I went with something simple.. my mishmosh stir-fry! This one contained 370 grams of mashed cauliflower, 200 grams shredded and steamed cabbage, 100 grams cooked lean ground turkey breast, 15 grams pistachios, and red chili:

I feel so bad for those of you outside of New Mexico who can’t enjoy chili! The chili I’m talking about is basically pureed red chili peppers. It’s great! If you ever come here you have to get some :)

Well, I better get some studying done.. sorry for the short post! I’ll make myself dessert while I study for some brain power! Bye!
