Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope you have all had a great start to the week and everyone in the UK has enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend.
I’ve been having so much fun! On Sunday I headed over to Bicester Village for a bit of shopping, but surprisingly I didn’t actually buy any thing for once. I thought may be something was wrong with me as it’s not like me to go shopping and come home empty handed. I think subconsciously I was preparing my back account for my trip to Whole Foods. That place is amazing and full of so many interesting and tasty foodie treasures. I had an awesome time browsing the aisles and picked up some great items to bring back with me:
Basil tofu, smoked tofu with almonds and sesame seeds, plain tofu, tempeh, chocolate chip, crunch peanut butter and oatmeal and raisin Clif bars,
Lizzi’s pink apple and cinnamon granola, Clearspring brown rice udon noodles, Diva sea salt and balsamic vinegar popcorn, cocoa cherry pie Bear granola nibbles, tropical crunch Bear granola nibbles,
Clipper orange and coconut tea, Yogi sweet chai tea, dark chocolate dreams, raw apricot kernel butter and chilli and lime mixed olives.
Some of the products like the tofu and tempeh I was completely out of and needed to restock and thought I might as well pick them up whilst I was there. I’ve wanted to try the chocolate and PB Spirutein powder for such a long time and they were out of stock on iHerb last time I made my order so when I saw the tub on the shelf I knew it was definitely heading into my shopping trolley. The vanilla flavoured powder and Frutien powder too so added the small sachets to my haul as I think they make perfect trial sizes. It’s such a great way to try the Spirutein products without committing yourself and buying the larger tubs.
Of course, since Autumn is just around the corner I bagged some Libby’s pumpkin puree. I can’t wait to start eating pumpkin with cinnamon again!!! The orange and coconut tea just sounded divine as did the sweet chai tea, perfect for the colder weather. I adore olives and the ones I bought have been marinated in chilli and lime, which I thought was a great flavour combination. As soon as I saw the raw apricot kernel butter my eyes popped out of their sockets! I’m really not exaggerating either. I love a new butters and thought this was a great alternative to try compared to my usual nut butters. I cannot wait to try it! And the jar of dark chocolate dreams…well no explanation is really needed for that one.
Before going to Whole Foods we lined the streets of Notting Hill and joined the crowds to watch the Notting Hill Carnival . There was such a great atmosphere and some crazy outfits and costumes going on:
These are just some of my favourite costumes, but there was just so many. By looking at many of the costumes it looks like they have been preparing them months in advance as some of them were so intricate and had a lot going on. The crowds really appreciated all of their effort and hard work, especially since it wasn’t very warm but everyone in the parade still carried on smiling regardless. This was my first experience of the Notting Hill Carnival apparently it’s the biggest carnival in Europe. I had the most amazing time with my friends enjoying all of the costumes, music, dancing and festivities. Now I have the bloggers Manchester meet up to look forward too. I’m super excited!!!
