Nightmares and Books

Posted Jan 17 2012 1:05pm

Today my best friend is coffee and lots of it.

I didn’t sleep very good last night. I had an intense nightmare in the middle of the night, and tried to keep myself awake so I wouldn’t fall back asleep into the nightmare. Is that even possible?!

Oh, and I woke up Danny twice to go to the bathroom with me because I was scared. Oh, and I kept the closet light on for the rest of the night.

Jeesh, I told you that it was an intense nightmare.

Danny’s best friend today is probably Coca-Cola since I kept him up half the night too.

Do you ever have nightmares? I will have them every once in a while, and when I do they’re usually so real & intense and freak me out.

Workout

I still managed to get myself to the gym and slug my way through an hour of cardio. It wasn’t my best workout, but it’ll do.

  • 30 minutes treadmill
  • 20 minutes elliptical
  • 10 minutes stationary bike

Before I worked out, I had one Kashi blueberry waffle with peanut butter. I went to the store to get the Van’s blueberry waffles, but they didn’t have any, so I went with the Kashi. They were alright, but I definitely prefer the Van’s waffles.

Post workout, I was a bit more hungry, so I had a bagelthin with egg whites and the rest of the vanilla Greek yogurt from yesterday topped with the new Multi Grain Peanut Butter Cheerios.

The peanut butter Cheerios are awesome. This might be a problem.

I like to eat in my sweaty workout clothes while checking my iPod and looking at coupons:

Books

Today the book 150 Pounds by Kate Rockland came out, and I just bought it on my Kindle.

About the book:

A smartly-written novel of two women starting at opposite ends of the scale—and finding compromise and friendship in their journey towards 150 pounds.

In the fast paced life of blogging, two women stand out: Alexis Allbright, of Skinny Chick, and Shoshana Weiner, who writes Fat and Fabulous. Both have over five million loyal readers. Both are hungry for success. But the similarities stop there.

With over 100 pounds on the scale separating them, weight isn’t their only difference. Alexis is a loner who is so bitchy the only person who can stand her company is her gay best friend Billy. She gives neurotic New Yorkers a run for their money with her strict daily workout routine, and weighing of food. Shoshana is Alexis’s opposite. Living in Jersey with rowdy roommates, she is someone who “collects friends,” as her mother puts it; and treasures a life of expanding circles…and waistlines.

When both appear as panelists on a popular talk show, their lives intersect in ways neither could have imagined. In turns comedic, heartwarming—and familiar to any woman who’s ever stepped on a scale—Alexis and Shoshana realize they have far more in common than either could have possibly imagined, and more importantly, something to offer.

I’m excited to read it – a fiction book about two bloggers!
