New Year, New Promises. Same story from 6 months ago...until now

I decided to change the pace and meet the same old challenges with many of my own.   Of course, exercise and work-related challenges stem from opposite sides of my personal spectrum.   I’ve established a new norm for my day-to-day rituals.   I began walking during my lunch hour…for the full 60 minutes…and I still have my trusty pedometer at my side at all times (except when sleeping).   

Thankfully, BeWell @Stanford has continued to enable employees to pay less for fantastic exercise classes.   I am in the Indoor Cycling and the Samba Beat classes now which accounts for 4 days of heart racing, sweat inducing, calorie burning activity.   Additionally, I continued my regimen of interval training (walking/running) on Fridays and Saturdays.   Since beginning this personal challenge, I’ve lost an inch off the ‘ol hips.   Wowza!!!!

I have a few weeks to my next Dr’s visit…not worried about what the scale says; however, the blood pressure and blood work will be GREAT!   I say that because the glucose levels have been getting lower and lower with each passing day.

Eventually, I’d like to cut back the Diabetes meds or even eliminate them…AND I’m considering a 5K.   I know, such lofty goals but I’ve come so far already and am feeling like I can really accomplish it.   We all have our own idea of motivation and feeling revived, energetic and younger with activity is certainly helping.   Of course, losing an inch was icing OFF the cake.
