If you’ve ever been on Cathe’s Shop website then you have seen the many DVDs she has for sale. Looking through these workout descriptions and previewing the workouts via video can get frustrating, time consuming and very confusing. When I started getting curious about Cathe and became new to her workouts, I went on her site, viewed and read everything.
I didn’t have anyone to tell me where I should have started so I went for the “BASIC STEP & BODY FUSION” DVD because, well, it said Basic and it was labeled “Beginner”. No other DVD of Cathe’s was labeled “beginner” so that’s where I decided to start. Basic Step & Body Fusion require you to use a club step as a major piece of equipment to do the workout so I bought that (Basic Step & Body Fusion came with it) and though I recommend EVERYONE to own a club step, not everyone likes or will like step cardio workouts and/or prefer a traditional workout bench to use instead. So, I have taken the liberty to jot down my recommendations for beginners by workout category.
I get questions, regularly, about Cathe’s workouts so I want to go ahead and share my Cathe workout recommendations for novice Catheletes or for beginners to fitness period depending on your personal preferences. So here are my recommendations for beginners to Cathe or beginners to fitness who want to dabble in a little Cathe fitness. Cathe DVDs are some of the top priced workout DVDs in the industry so start with these if you’re not sure you will want to work out with her.
Abs: Core Max Bootcamp: n/a Circuit: Body Fusion (club step needed) Hi / Lo: n/a High Step: High Step Circuit Kickbox: Kick Max Step Cardio: Basic Step Strength: Muscle Max Stretch: Stretch Max
You may also want to take a look at Cathe’s OFFICIAL BEGINNER ROTATION on her forums if you are into following workout rotations for ideas as well. Once you have mastered these then you can move on and experiment with other Cathe workouts. Most of Cathe’s workouts are tough, high impact, high intensity and fall into the “Advanced” category so watch out! Cathe workouts are effective, motivating, fun and brings results!
Some asked me which Cathe workouts are my favorites and I told her Low Max, IMAX2, IMAX3, Cardio Fusion, Cardio Core Circuit, Circuit Blast, HIIT, STS Plyo, Body Max 2, Butts & Guts just to name a few.
I also wanted to note that after I watched a few workout clips from Cathe I knew right away I could workout to her style. I’ve been hooked ever since.
Cathe DVDs can be purchased from Mary @ TotalFitnessDvds.com (my favorite place to buy workout DVDs), Amazon.com, CollageVideo.com and Cathe.com. You can watch clips of each workout on Cathe.com or on Cathe’s Youtube channel to get a feel for the workouts.
