New things & crazy 8s!

So yesterday I was sore from Monday’s leg day, but didn’t really think much of it. So on Tuesday, I did 30 minutes of sprints on the treadmill (level 10, 30 seconds on/30 seconds off).

Today I am still so sore! So much for another leg day tomorrow, haha. I guess if you hit them hard enough, once a week is enough!

Yesterday I also decided to be Martha Stewart. Behold:

So it actually kind of sucked. The dough wouldn’t stay together if I rolled the dough too thin, but then the noodles kinda stuck together, and it was a bit of a doughy mess. They didn’t taste great either, since they were so thick. Oh well! First try! And a pretty picture!

In other news, there is the cute little health food store that I walk by every Monday and Wednesday on my way to teach, and it keeps sucking me in. So, I tried some new Vega bars this week! One was fab, one tasted like plants rolled in soil. Actually two did.

The third bar (no picture) was Vega chocolate with Maca. No. Just no. This is the first time I have ever turned down chocolate.

The other dangerous thing about this store, is everytime I walk by, it sucks $5 out of my wallet in exchange for one of these.

Obsessed. Some brands aren’t great but this brand is BOMBBB. So good. And such a giant bottle. Win.

I didn’t go to the gym this morning because of yet another snow storm (let’s squeeze out every last winter drop, shall we, Mother Nature?). So instead my workout was shovelling! The snow was SO HEAVY because it was also raining. Worked for me! Then I taught a KILLER boot camp. Legit. Here is a small part of it– try it! It’s all bodyweight so you can do it anywhere, anytime! This will take around 25-30 minutes.

Crazy 8s: 8 exercises, 8 reps, 8 rounds!

  • 8 squat jumps
  • 8 lunge jumps (alternating)
  • 8 push-ups
  • 8 tricep dips
  • 8 FULL burpees (push-up at the bottom)
  • 8 narrow squat jumps
  • 8 plank-ups
  • 8 shoulder presses (bodyweight)

Complete all exercises in a row, rest 30 seconds. Repeat for a total of 8 rounds. Enjoy!

I’ll be cracking down on workouts and nutrition pretty soon! One of my 2013 goals is in the works! More info on that later :)
