I came home from working this afternoon to a very welcomed package on my doorstep!!

DSC06724 I ordered some new running shoes the other day from . I have had my MIZUNO WAVE RIDERS for about a year and a half now (9 months of that was while I was prego so the mileage on them is just as much as what I would have put on a pair in a year not pregnant). My knees were starting to feel a little pain during the longer runs, so I figured it was time for some new ones!

My last 4 pairs of running shoes have been Mizuno Wave Riders , but this time I changed it up. Maybe I shouldn’t have, why change a good thing right?! I have LOW arches (so low...I don’t really have any at all) and I thought I should try a shoe that is more meant for the over-pronator that I am!

I went with the Wave Inspire . Comparing the two types, there isn’t a huge different in the shoes except the Inspire has more stability & control which is better for my oh-so flat feet.

So far, after wearing them for the last 1/2 hour around the house, they feel ok. My ankle is rubbing a little on the left foot, but I figure they just need to be broken in a tad. It does feel more stable in the heel region which is good.

And I don’t know how you tie your running shoes, but when I bought my first pair of Mizuno’s, the sales person at the running store showed me this way to tie my shoes. It makes it so they fit tight around my heel/ankle but don’t cramp the rest of my foot...

Or you can watch this from Runner’s World , she’ll tell you all about it!

I think I will save these for my Monday run instead of my 8 miles tomorrow. I fear doing long runs in brand new shoes.

Now it’s time for some new orthotics...I’ll spare you the picture of those nasty things!!
