New resource section on the blog for you!

Posted Feb 21 2014 11:50am

I love my job for a variety of reasons. I love being able to teach what I love and what I am passionate about. I actually like teaching middle school kids how to be healthier. An added bonus to my job is 2 words: school vacation. I’ve been off all week and I’ve been busy seeing friends and family and organizing play dates for both my kids. One of my friends that I hadn’t seen in a long time came over for dinner with her husband last week. Naturally the conversation headed towards nutrition. My family doesn’t eat the same foods we used to eat 2 years ago and that can be confusing. I am always ready and willing to discuss my reasons why we eat differently.  Heck, the reason why I started this blog with Dani was not only to help people, but to have a central location for all my recipes and thoughts on nutrition, fitness, and health. During our visit, I found that I kept repeating “Oh yeah I wrote about that; it’s on my blog.” I realized during or visit that for someone new to the blog or for someone looking for an organized resource, that there was nothing available…until now.

Check out the new resource section of FMFP here . I organized it by subject in the following categories:

  • grains & legumes
  • dairy
  • sugar
  • alcohol
  • potatoes & safe starch
  • probiotics
  • cholesterol
  • nuts, seed, & paleo treats
  • shakes, smoothies, etc.
  • paleo & exercise
  • basic nutrition
  • time & money-saving
  • industrial seed oils

When I was done with organizing a year and a half’s worth of posts (yes, it took me all morning) I sat back pretty proud of how much content we have written about! I hope that this system will allow not only increased access to some great content in older posts, but that this becomes a one-spot resource that will help you educate others on why you are making the decisions you are for yourself and for your family. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Yours in health,
