New Product! Check out Beanstalk Labs Growth Chart.

Posted Apr 17 2014 8:22pm

Do you have growth charts for your kids? I do. I bought my kids handmade growth chart from Etsy a while ago. I loved them so much I gave them to my nephew’s one year for Christmas. As much as I love the charts, they are pretty standard growth charts. PicMonkey Collage My kids stand up against them once a year and I mark how tall they are with the date in marker. Then we joke about how long it’s going to take for my kids to surpass me.  I have less than 10 inches on my son haha. All of this takes less than a minute and honestly I am not sure what I am going to do with these charts when they are above 5′ tall. Maybe throw them in the plastic bin in my attic with those baby clothes I saved for them with their baby book…

But then I came across a cool growth chart from Beanstalk Labs . It’s more than just a growth chart. This one is pretty cool. It’s as if you took a growth chart and a milestone chart and meshed them together. I don’t know about you, but I am not that great with photos. At least not any more. Let me clarify; I take lots of photos only to have them sit in my phone for months at a time. Sometimes I remember to upload them to the computer so I can eventually make a digital photo book that takes me about 3 months to complete. I used to be so good at all this when the kids were little, but then life got busy and actually doing something with those special occasion & milestone photos got pushed to the back burner. How cool would it be to be to have a growth chart that records height and milestones WITH PICTURES and is also DIGITAL so you can share it with family and keep it forever?! If you are thinking “whaaaa??” right now then you just have to watch this video. It’s 1:33 seconds long and it explains exactly what can happen when you add technology to a growth chart.

So what did you think? Pretty cool huh? I saw it and it made me a little sad that my kids are pretty much too old for this. But, I know that I will be known as the cool gift giver at the next baby shower I go to! I mean really how many onesies can one baby need? This is going to be “the gift.” You know “the gift” that the mom-to-be doesn’t know she needs until she gets it, uses it, thinks it’s amazing, and then proceeds to give it to all her friends that are having babies after her because now she’s an expert ;-)

Beanstalk Labs is also on Tumblr and they interviewed me! I was asked to answer questions about being a parent. It was fun! Check out my interview here .

So how do you help? Well right now it’s easy. It’s a new company that is just trying to get the word out through Kickstarter. All you need to do is enter your email address on their home page :

Once they get 2,000 people who are interested they will be able to kickstart the project (see what I did there). That’s it. You don’t have to agree to buy it or donate any money. All you do is enter your email address to let them know you think it’s a cool idea. I’ve already entered mine. So be sure to show your support by sharing it with your friends and family or social media.

Thanks everyone,
