Do you ever question yourself, your goals? Asking yourself, "Am I the person that I want to be? The one I envision
killing runs and dominating workouts?"
I'm my own best critic, and do this all too often. Inner dialogue: "I should go ALL OUT, EVERY TIME. Eat ONLY whole foods with the perfect 40-30-30 combo!"
Time to change that mindset. My mantra this week
Pin It
MAKE YOURSELF.
I can choose to
beat myself up mentally because I had
a handful half a bag of Hot Tamales or a skipped an intense workout for a leisurely stroll.
Or, I can change my self talk and
DECIDE to commit to making ME count.
Every run does not have to be a PR. I can log miles at a pace I consider "slow" with no purpose other than
TO MOVE.
Pre-run
Sunday afternoon was pleasant
and sunny, both rarities
in eastern Washington this time of year. So, I opted out of a workout at the gym with Coach and
instead grabbed my furry, workout buddy for a run.
Sunset on the Palouse
Cooper more than obliged. And, I didn't yank his leash when he stopped to curiously smell the surroundings.
We took our time and enjoyed the outdoors.
My future actions, thoughts and words will determine who I am:
I AM AN ATHLETE. Period.
*Also, some of you asked about the shoes I was wearing
in this post . They are the
Nike Free Training shoes.
