New kicks for an outdoor run

Posted Jan 23 2011 3:36pm
It is unseasonably warm here in Eastern Washington (40's) and the sun is peeking through.  Usually, vitamin D has to come in the form of capsules this time of year!  I'm on my way to try out my new Nike Zoom Vomero +5 (narrow) shoes.

I used them for a 5.5 mile treadmill run yesterday and love that they are narrow.  Normally, I have to synch my laces super tight, but not on these babies.

I realize Nike has been behind the times with running shoes, but since my HS track days, I have worn the brand.  Granted, I was a sprinter and long & triple jumper.  Distance used to mean a mile to me.  But, I figure if Kara Goucher can wear Nike, so can I! :)

7.2 miles done!  Feel SUPER!

Do you stay loyal to brand/model?

Is there a brand you want to try that will make you "run faster and jump higher"?
(I always thought this was the case with new shoes as a kid).
